Permanent magnetic separator models: JPX-CCY, CBJ, DCMB, drawer and bar magnets

Permanent magnetic separators use no power. This guide lists the PTMS permanent-magnet model families, the field strengths we publish, and when to choose an electromagnetic machine instead.

What they are

PTMS permanent magnetic separators use rare-earth NdFeB or ferrite magnetic systems. They draw no electricity, are built for auto-discharge and self-cleaning to cut labour, and come as drawer, pipeline, rotary and belt styles for dry powders, granules and pipelines.

Model families

Model familyWhat it isPublished figure
JPX-CCY seriesPermanent magnetic separator family for raw-material and glaze iron removalCustomized (custom-built); datasheet per project on request
CBJ seriesPermanent magnetic rod-group iron remover family for slurry and raw-material linesCustomized (custom-built); datasheet per project on request
DCMB double-layer belt magnetTwo-stage belt magnet for granular material on a conveyorCustomized (custom-built); datasheet per project on request
Permanent magnetic belt separatorNdFeB plus ferrite composite system, deep field, not easily demagnetised; for ceramic dry powder, quartz sand, refractories, plastic granulesHandles 0.1–10 mm granules
Drawer-type separatorStacked magnetic bars pulled out layer by layer by cylinder for discharge; used on ceramic mud, coal, casting sand and refractories10,000 Gauss on a 25 mm bar
Rod-box separatorRare-earth rods in a box; automatic iron discharge so feed need not stop; 3, 5, 8 or 12 layersUp to 10,000 Gauss on 25 mm rods
Permanent magnetic barCore of cylindrical magnets and magnetising iron sheets; bar diameters such as 19, 22, 25, 28, 32 and 38 mm; sealed by silica gel or argon-arc welding12,000 Gauss on a 1-inch bar (N40+ NdFeB); 6,000–11,000 Gauss practical surface field; samarium cobalt for temperatures above 150 °C

The numbers are those already published on our product pages; JPX-CCY, CBJ and the conveyor models are permanent-magnet types built to order (customized, custom-built), so they have no fixed catalogue figures; we send a datasheet per project with the quotation.

Permanent or electromagnetic?

Permanent units have no running cost and suit coarse, free-flowing material with a light iron load. Electromagnetic units use a powered coil to build a strong, adjustable field, which is better for fine or weakly magnetic iron in deeper material beds and for lines where the field must switch off for automatic discharge. We help match the type, field strength and chamber (pipeline, grid, drawer, drum) to your material size, throughput and iron content. See the dry electromagnetic range for the powered option.

Conveyor styles

For belts and granules see conveyor drum, pulley and belt separators.

What to send for a quote

Material and particle size, throughput, how the material is conveyed (pipeline, gravity chute, belt), operating temperature, iron load and target, and your destination country. Samples can be tested before you order.

Next step: send us your material details (or WhatsApp +86 139 2990 7491) and we reply with a matched model and a quotation. Our FAQ states that a test on a sample of your material comes first, and that no iron-reduction figure is quoted without a test.

Frequently asked questions

Which permanent magnetic separator models do you offer?

The permanent-magnet range includes the JPX-CCY series, the CBJ series and the DCMB double-layer belt magnet, along with drawer-type, rod-box and belt separators and magnetic bars. JPX-CCY and CBJ are permanent magnetic separators; like the conveyor models they are customized (custom-built), with a datasheet per project on request.

What magnetic field strength do the bars and drawers reach?

A 25 mm drawer bar or rod reaches about 10,000 Gauss; a 1-inch NdFeB bar (N40 or better) reaches 12,000 Gauss on its surface, with 6,000–11,000 Gauss typical in practice.

Do permanent magnetic separators use electricity?

No. They use rare-earth NdFeB or ferrite magnet systems and draw no power.

Can a permanent magnet handle high temperature?

Samarium cobalt magnet steel is used for magnetic bars operating above 150 °C.

When should I choose an electromagnetic separator instead?

When iron is fine or weakly magnetic, the bed is deeper, or the field must switch off for automatic discharge. We can recommend after reviewing your material and iron content.
